The Stagg Wireless Surface Microphone Set are used to detect sound waves in solid materials. Ordinary mics work like ears, by detecting sound waves in air, but contact mics need to be attached directly to objects or surfaces. Sound waves moving through those objects are turned into an electrical audio signal that can be amplified or recorded.
